Valentine’s Day Dance-A-Thon on Friday, February 16th, 2024

This year the Catholic School Council will again host a DANCE-A-THON, which has always been a successful fundraiser for our school. This Valentine’s Day dance will be held during the day on Friday, February 16. We are counting on this as a wonderful way for our students to celebrate St. Valentine’s Day, and at the same time, contribute their efforts to help our school.

The funds raised at this event will support items that the school needs, as decided through consultation with the school council, staff and students. Items may include support for theatrical productions, guest speakers, the arts,  technology, and items for school activities.

Guidelines for the Dance-a-thon

Pledge forms: Attached is a pledge form for each child. We encourage students to draw support for this event from close family friends, neighbours, and relatives. Parents may even wish to bring forms to work to ask coworkers for support. For safety reasons, students should not go canvassing door-to-door in the neighbourhood.

Dance times: The dance will be in the gymnasium, with appropriate music. Students should dress in Valentine’s colours such as Red, White & Pink. Students will be dancing with their class and teachers at the following times:

Grades Time Duration
JK & SK 8:45 am – 9:15 am 30 min.
1, 2 & 3 9:15 am – 9:55 am 40 min.
4,5 & 6 10:15 am – 11:15 am 1 hr.
7 & 8 12:30 pm – 1:45 pm 1hr 15 min.
  1. Collected Pledges: Please provide one cheque per child, representing all pledges collected by each child. Please ensure that:
    1. Your child’s full name, grade and teacher are written on the front of your cheque.
    2. All cheques and pledge sheets must be returned to the child’s teacher by Wednesday, February 21st to qualify for individual and class prizes.
