Purple Day – Supporting Epilepsy Around The World

Purple Day is an international grassroots effort dedicated to increasing awareness about epilepsy worldwide. On March 26th annually, people in countries around the world are invited to wear purple and host events in support of epilepsy awareness.

On Monday, March 28th students are welcome to wear purple or accessorize their school uniform with purple in support of this initiative. 

World Down Syndrome Day

World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate people with Down Syndrome around the globe. This signifies the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome. This day was also declared Ontario Down Syndrome Day by the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in 2016.

Archdiocese Fundraising for Ukraine

On Tuesday, March 1, 2022, the Archdiocese of Toronto announced it would be accepting donations for humanitarian relief in response to the tragedy unfolding in Ukraine. Funds collected by the Archdiocese will be channeled to the Catholic Near East Welfare Association (CNEWA) and the Office for Refugees, Archdiocese of Toronto (ORAT).

Kindness Week

To kick off the week, students will participate in a kindness activity in their classroom where they will write on a paper heart how they show kindness. Once completed, the hearts will be placed on the Kindness Trees in the front foyer of the school.
